This video captures the full public lecture by Dr. Bogdan Klich, presented at the Great Hall, Frost Institute for Chemistry and Molecular Science at the University of Miami, as part of the 2025–2026 Lady Blanka Rosenstiel Endowed Program in Polish Heritage.

Hosted in partnership with the Center for the Humanities and The American Institute of Polish Culture, this event brought together students, scholars, diplomats, and community members for an in-depth discussion on one of today’s most urgent global topics.


🎙 Lecture Topic

“Poland–U.S. Cooperation: Security, Defense, and the War in Ukraine”

Dr. Klich explores the critical strategic partnership between Poland and the United States amid rapidly evolving global security challenges. Key themes include:

  • The role of Poland–U.S. collaboration in strengthening NATO
  • Joint defense initiatives in Eastern Europe
  • The geopolitical impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine
  • How Polish-American cooperation supports Ukraine
  • The importance of transatlantic unity in ensuring European stability

👤 About Dr. Bogdan Klich

Dr. Klich is a leading expert in international security and foreign policy, with a distinguished career in public service, media, academia, and democratic activism. His experience includes:

  • Manager of the Information Department at State TV Centre in Krakow (1990–1992)
  • Head of the International Centre for Development of Democracy (1993–1999)
  • Head of the Institute for Strategic Studies (1999–2003)
  • Adviser on Poland’s EU accession negotiations (1998–1999)
  • Medical degree from Krakow Medical Academy
  • Degree in Philosophy & History from Jagiellonian University
  • Lecturer at the Institute of European Studies
  • Author of numerous publications on foreign affairs and security
  • Active member of the democratic opposition in the 1970s and 1980s

This lecture is part of an ongoing series made possible by a generous gift from The American Institute of Polish Culture, founded by Lady Blanka Rosenstiel in 1972.
The Program celebrates:

  • Polish history and culture
  • Polish contributions to science, scholarship, and the arts
  • Cross-cultural understanding and academic engagement

The University of Miami’s Center for the Humanities proudly coordinates this program in collaboration with the College of Arts & Sciences and The American Institute of Polish Culture.
