During the 2016-17 academic year, UVA’s Center for Russian,
East European and Eurasian Studies (CREEES) organized three
events as part of the Polish Lecture Series at UVA that focused on
the theme of “Poland and the World.” The American Institute of Polish Culture has rightly pointed out that, “Poland has contrib-
uted in important ways to Western civilization,” and the lectures aimed to explore this contribution by emphasizing Poland’s im-
pact on world affairs.
